The Thai army announced that three civilians were killed during intense fighting along the border with Cambodia, marking the first civilian casualties since the resumption of the conflict. The fighting was triggered by a clash on Sunday, during which two Thai soldiers were injured, compromising the previous ceasefire imposed by American President Donald Trump.

Approximately 24 people have been killed in the latest clashes, and hundreds of thousands have been displaced, seeking temporary shelter. The Thai army stated that it responded to artillery and mortar attacks from Cambodia. The conflict has drawn international attention, including from Pope Leo XIV, who expressed deep sadness over the situation of the affected civilians.
