The United States has decided to suspend the technological partnership with the United Kingdom, citing insufficient progress in implementing trade agreements between the two countries. Michael Kratsios, the White House advisor for science and technology, announced this decision, emphasizing that the partnership covers cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, civil nuclear energy, and quantum computing. The announcement comes after an initial compromise between the two nations, which generated turmoil, being the first trade agreements concluded by the Trump administration. Kratsios expressed hope that collaboration will resume once the United Kingdom makes significant progress in fulfilling its commitments. Discussions remain stalled on issues such as food security and internet regulation, and the U.S. desires greater openness of the British market for agricultural exports.
