The USA opposes the transportation of Azerbaijani gas to Ukraine through Greece, preferring American LNG deliveries.

Following discussions, Greece has committed to using Azerbaijani gas only as a last resort, in order to ensure the planned deliveries of American LNG between December 2025 and March 2026. This situation has been generated by fears that Russian gas could reach Europe through the TAP pipeline, which transports Azerbaijani gas.

Additionally, "Route 3" is planned for deliveries of Azerbaijani gas to Ukraine, but the U.S. maintains a position of vigilance regarding these initiatives.
