Stephen Miller, the senior advisor to American President Donald Trump, stated that the U.S. claims to control Greenland represent "the official position of the U.S. government." He dismissed the idea of a military conflict over the Arctic island, asserting that no one will fight against the United States for the future of Greenland.

Miller emphasized that Greenland should be part of the U.S., mentioning that Trump has expressed this position since the beginning of his term. He questioned Denmark's sovereignty over Greenland, asking what the legal basis for this affiliation is. Greenland, an autonomous territory of Denmark, is strategically important due to its resources and its role in Arctic military security. In response, Denmark and other countries rejected the U.S. claims, with the Danish Prime Minister warning that an attack on a NATO country would have serious consequences.
