The Trump administration intends to establish a Peace Council, requesting 1 billion dollars from countries wishing to become permanent members. The group's draft statute, cited by Bloomberg, states that Donald Trump will be the inaugural president and will select the invited members. The council was approved by the UN Security Council in November 2025, aiming primarily to oversee the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. Although membership does not involve costs, the contribution of 1 billion dollars ensures a permanent seat. The group's mandate is to rebuild the Gaza Strip, and the funds will be used efficiently, without large administrative expenses. Romania has confirmed receipt of the invitation to join the Council, and other countries, including Hungary and India, have accepted the invitations. Trump has also appointed an executive council to oversee the group's activities, including personalities such as Marco Rubio and Jared Kushner.
