Super-typhoon Ragasa hit Hong Kong, where huge waves destroyed hotels and flooded streets, causing panic among residents. The storm also affected Taiwan, with 15 confirmed casualties and 124 people reported missing after the breaking of a dam lake. Nearly two million people were evacuated from Guangdong province, where authorities closed schools and transportation. Wind gusts of 241 km/h were recorded, and rescue teams intervened to help those trapped.
