The Spanish police dismantled a group that was transporting hashish from Morocco by helicopter, confiscating 657 kg of drugs and arresting six people.

The Spanish police announced on Saturday that they have dismantled a criminal group that used helicopters to illegally transport hashish from Morocco as part of an operation against air drug trafficking. The helicopters, capable of transporting between 500 and 900 kilograms of drugs, flew over the Mediterranean Sea to southern Spain, from where the hashish was distributed by road to other parts of Europe.

During the raids carried out in the provinces of Malaga, Almeria, and Murcia, the police confiscated a helicopter, 657 kilograms of hashish, five firearms, money, and vehicles. The operation, named 'Giro', benefited from the collaboration of authorities from Morocco, Belgium, and Sweden and led to the arrest of six suspects, accused of drug trafficking and belonging to a criminal organization.
