The average price of gasoline in the United States has reached $4.18 per gallon, the highest level in nearly four years, due to the conflict with Iran, according to data from the American Automobile Association.
The increase of 7 cents represents the largest daily increase in the last month, and since the end of February, the price has risen by $1.19 per gallon, which is over 40%. This increase is fueled by rising energy costs and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial point for global oil and gas supply.
Analysts warn that prices could continue to rise if crude oil prices remain high, and fuel traders are facing increasingly narrow profit margins.
Problems in refineries, including unplanned shutdowns and maintenance, have contributed to this situation, affecting major refineries in the U.S.
Analysts suggest that further increases in fuel prices are inevitable, especially in regions with limited supplies, such as the Midwest.
