The Kennedy Center in Washington has requested an extension to remove Donald Trump's name from the building, after missing the deadline set by a federal judge. Justice Department lawyers explained that work is ongoing, but storms in the area have caused delays. The appeals court upheld the decision to compel the center to remove Trump's name, rejecting the request to suspend the order. Although the litigation continues, the center must comply with the ruling. In recent days, they have begun to erase the inscription, but have kept the letters that formed Trump's name on the facade. Lawyers argued that reverting to the original name could create confusion and affect private donations. Protesters gathered at the site, demanding the removal of the inscription, and Congresswoman Joyce Beatty supported their action as justified. Trump's name was installed in December, but the decision was contested by the Kennedy family. The center's management approved a resolution praising Trump and created a fund in his name to attract donations.
