The Greenlandic Prime Minister Jens Frederik Nielssen reacted firmly to the repeated threats from American President Donald Trump to "deal with" Greenland, stating that "enough" is enough with the pressures and insinuations regarding annexation. Nielssen emphasized that Greenland is open to dialogue, but that it must take place through appropriate channels and with respect for international law. Trump reiterated the need to assess the situation in Greenland in the context of national security, mentioning that Denmark cannot manage this territory alone.

The Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen strongly condemned Trump's statements, asserting that Greenland is not for sale. Additionally, several countries, including France and Nordic leaders, expressed solidarity with Denmark, emphasizing that border changes cannot occur through force. Polls show that the majority of Greenlanders oppose belonging to the United States, reaffirming their desire to determine their own future.
