A Gheran-2 type drone has fallen and exploded in the Căușeni district of the Republic of Moldova.

A Gheran-2 drone (Shahed-136) fell and exploded last night near the village of Copanca, Căușeni district, less than 100 km from Chișinău.

The incident occurred following airstrikes by the Russian Federation on the Odesa region, and the Ministry of Defense of Moldova emphasized that this event represents a serious violation of national airspace.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacted, stating that the war in Ukraine generates direct risks to the security of Moldovan citizens.

The police were alerted at 01:03, and police and fire teams intervened at the scene.

No casualties were reported.

The authorities secured the area and are conducting investigations to establish the circumstances of the incident. Citizens are warned not to approach suspicious drones, which may carry explosives, and to contact the Emergency Service.
