The European Commission will send 447 emergency generators to Ukraine to support the energy supply of hospitals and critical services.

The European Commission announces the dispatch of 447 emergency generators, worth 3.7 million euros, from the rescEU strategic reserves in Poland, to help Ukraine resume energy supply to hospitals, shelters, and essential services. The generators will be distributed by the Ministry of Community Development and Territories of Ukraine, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Red Cross, to the most affected communities. Commissioner Hadja Lahbib emphasized that Russia's attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure severely impact civilians, but Europe is responding with concrete actions. This mobilization complements the over 9,500 generators already provided by the EU, as part of ongoing support for Ukraine's energy resilience. Since the beginning of the invasion, the EU has delivered over 160,000 tons of aid, including fuels and heating appliances, to help Ukraine cope with the difficult winter.
