The European Commission condemned Zelenski's threats against Viktor Orbán, emphasizing that the escalation of rhetoric does not help in gaining support for Ukraine.

The spokesperson for the European Commission, Olof Gill, stated that the threatening language used by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky towards Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is unacceptable and does not help achieve European objectives, such as pressuring Russia to stop its aggression in Ukraine and granting a 90 billion euro loan to Ukraine.

Zelensky threatened to take military action against Hungary if it does not unblock financial aid, accusing it of blocking oil and energy supplies. In response, Viktor Orbán and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico accused Ukraine of political blackmail, stating that it is keeping the Druzhba pipeline, essential for oil supply, blocked.

Additionally, Hungary has suspended energy supplies to Ukraine and blocked EU sanctions against Russia, generating further tensions in the relations between the two countries. Fico characterized Zelensky's threats as a "serious blackmail" that has exceeded acceptable limits.
