The European Commissioner for Economy, Valdis Dombrovskis, warned on Friday that the economy of the European Union is facing the risk of stagflation, as a result of rising energy prices generated by the war in Iran. Dombrovskis emphasized that economic prospects are affected by deep uncertainties, and the risks of economic stagnation and inflation are on the rise. He highlighted the need for proactive measures to counteract the negative effects of these economic shocks. In the current context, it is essential for member states to collaborate to stabilize the economy and protect citizens from the impact of rising energy prices.
