According to an estimate published by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the deployment of military forces on the streets of major American cities, ordered by Donald Trump, cost nearly 500 million dollars in 2020. The president attempted to send troops to cities run by Democrats, such as Washington and Los Angeles, under the pretext of combating crime. These operations faced significant opposition, including from the courts, and Trump announced the withdrawal of the National Guard from certain cities after judicial failures. The most expensive deployment was in Washington, costing 223 million dollars for 2,600 soldiers. Estimates suggest that these operations will continue to generate significant costs in 2021, with figures ranging from 6 million dollars per month in New Orleans to 55 million in Washington.
