Andon Café, recently opened in a residential neighborhood in Stockholm, is the first café run by the artificial intelligence 'Mona', based on Google Gemini.
The café's operations are managed by AI, which has handled hiring, developed the menu, and coordinated supplies. Although 'Mona' successfully hired two people, it made errors in orders, such as excessive purchasing of products.
The café attracts between 50 and 80 customers a day, and Hanna Petersson, from the Andon Labs team, emphasizes the importance of testing the role of AI in society. The experiment raises ethical dilemmas, such as respecting employees' right to disconnect. Customers, like Urja Risal, are curious to observe how AI works in real life and to reflect on the risks associated with an AI manager.
