Anstice Justin, an anthropologist with experience in contact with the isolated tribe on North Sentinel Island, stated that it is urgent to re-establish contact with these indigenous people in order to better protect them.

The island, part of the Andaman and Nicobar archipelago, is inhabited by a group of 50-150 individuals who became famous after they killed an American missionary in 2018. Justin, who participated in contact missions between 1986 and 2004, believes that the tribe's isolation is no longer sustainable, given the increased curiosity of the public and recent incidents with intruders.

He warns that, in the context of infrastructure development in the area, the tribe will not be able to survive without organized contact that protects their culture and way of life.

Justin insists that isolated populations cannot withstand modern challenges and advocates for responsible contact that does not impose external influences on them.
