American emissaries Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner may visit Kyiv in April, according to statements by Kirilo Budanov, advisor to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. This visit would take place against the backdrop of efforts to resume peace talks with Russia, which have stalled since the outbreak of the war in the Gulf. Budanov mentioned that the meeting could occur after Orthodox Easter, on April 12, and will be the first official visit of Witkoff and Kushner to Ukraine, following previous meetings with Ukrainian representatives in the US and Russia.
Discussions to end the four-year war have been affected by attacks on Iran, which have generated reprisals in the Middle East. At the same time, President Zelensky met in Istanbul with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to discuss cooperation in the field of security. Zelensky emphasized the importance of partnership for the protection of human lives and regional stability, noting that discussions will cover broader aspects of security, not just drone interceptors.
