U.S. envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff presented Kyiv with new proposals, described as “more effective,” to end the war with Russia. The two will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday, according to a senior Ukrainian presidential official cited by AFP.
The official said the current format of the negotiations differs from the previous one and that the talks have become more effective. “It is no longer as it was before. This time it is more effective,” he said. He added that the negotiations are continuing and that, at this point, the discussions are taking place between the two U.S. envoys and President Zelensky.
The new proposals aim to create a basis for an agreement that would end the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, but details of the plan have not been made public. It is also unclear whether Moscow has received or analyzed these ideas.
The meeting comes amid U.S. diplomatic efforts to help bring the war to an end. The Ukrainian official’s statements indicate a resumption or intensification of direct consultations with Kyiv, although the outcome of the discussions is not yet known.
