The American military recently carried out an attack on a vessel suspected of drug trafficking in the Pacific Ocean, resulting in the death of two people. The U.S. Southern Command for Latin America and the Caribbean (SOUTHCOM) announced that the vessel was conducting illegal drug trafficking operations.
The campaign, which began a few months ago, has led to at least 170 deaths, according to AFP reports. Washington has intensified attacks in the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, targeting ships it considers involved in drug trafficking activities towards the United States.
However, the Trump administration has not presented conclusive evidence to support the allegations against these ships. Experts and UN representatives have criticized these actions, denouncing extrajudicial executions. This situation raises questions about the legality and ethics of these attacks in the context of the fight against drug trafficking.
