A 13-year-old girl from Louisiana was found in the basement of a house in Pittsburgh, locked in a box, after she disappeared last week. The 26-year-old man, Ki-Shawn Crumity, was arrested and charged with human trafficking, sexual assault, and corruption of a minor after he met the girl on Snapchat. Authorities also detained two other men: one accused of kidnapping and the other of complicity. The girl was taken to the hospital, where doctors confirmed signs of sexual assault. During her journey through several states, the teenager was exploited and abused, and the Attorney General of Louisiana highlighted the dangers of social networks in the context of human trafficking. Crumity was held without the possibility of bail.
