The Secretary of the United States Army, Dan Driscoll, submitted his resignation on Monday amid disagreements with Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth regarding the strategic vision. He served only 18 months of his term.

Driscoll, at 41 years old, was "extremely effective" in promoting Trump's agenda and demonstrated "remarkable leadership" during military operations, according to the White House. He previously served in the military and was an officer in 2007, before leading a cavalry platoon and being deployed to Iraq for several months in 2009.

The former secretary played a crucial role in negotiations related to the war in Ukraine, having a significant impact on the military support provided to Kyiv.
