A tense phone conversation between American President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed a rift in the ceasefire negotiations with Iran.

The call focused on a revised U.S. proposal, sent to Iran through Pakistan, aimed at ending hostilities and opening negotiations for a month. Netanyahu was critical of the diplomatic path, preferring a return to military actions, arguing that delays give Iran time to recover.

The disagreement came after a sudden change in American military plans. President Trump told Netanyahu on Sunday that the U.S. would likely launch targeted airstrikes against Iran at the beginning of the week. However, Trump halted the strikes about 24 hours later, due to the request of Gulf allies to suspend the attacks to allow more time for a diplomatic alternative.
