Hsiao Bi-khim said Taiwan does not want a confrontation with China, but stressed that military pressure from Beijing is counterproductive. In her speech, she emphasized the contributions of Taiwanese people and businesses to China's development, noting that an aggressive stance undermines growth opportunities for both sides. China considers Taiwan part of its territory and accuses the Taiwanese president of separatism, which the Taiwanese government rejects.
