A recent survey conducted by the portal Suvremena politika shows a significant decrease in the support of the population in Serbia for joining the European Union. Only 35.8% of Serbs would vote for entry into the EU in a referendum, while 33% would oppose it. This trend is more pronounced among the youth, where opposition to accession is the lowest, at only 18.7%.

In contrast, only 20% of people over 70 years old support accession. Additionally, 22.4% of respondents are undecided. Fifteen years ago, support for accession was around 70%, remaining above 50% for many years, but it dropped to 57% in August 2022 and to 43% in December 2022. The survey was conducted on a representative sample of 1,000 people between December 3 and 11.
