Following the resignations of three Spanish politicians for lying about their diplomas, many political leaders are postponing vacations to review their CVs. Noelia Núñez, deputy secretary of the People's Party, resigned after it was discovered that she did not have the diplomas. Similarly, José María Ángel Batalla was sacked for a fake diploma and Ignacio Herrero resigned over similar forgeries. Although it is not compulsory for politicians to have university degrees, social pressure is forcing them to present themselves with academic titles.
