Severe storms and extreme rainfall in China have caused the death of 15 people and injured hundreds more, according to an updated toll. Nearly 50,000 people have been evacuated due to severe flooding, and President Xi Jinping has called for a "total" mobilization of aid.

The Hubei region has been severely affected, with 11 deaths and 331 injuries, and nearly 5,000 homes have been damaged. In addition, Typhoon Maysak has led to four more deaths in Guangxi, causing significant destruction. Authorities have activated the emergency flood response plan, and rescuers continue the search for missing persons.

Extreme weather phenomena are common in China, and experts warn that they will become more intense due to climate change. Additionally, a landslide in Gansu province has buried 33 people, of whom 17 have been rescued.
