The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, stated that mandatory military service will be reintroduced for men aged between 19 and 27 years, lasting approximately 75 days.

The purpose of this measure is to prepare young people for civic responsibilities and to strengthen national defense. Aleksandar Vucic emphasized that the program will include two months of intensive military training, followed by two weeks of field exercises, and that civil service will remain an option for those with conscientious objections, but it will last more than 150 days.

The Serbian president stated that this structure ensures respect for personal beliefs and fairness in society, emphasizing the importance of each citizen's contribution to the country's development. Women's participation will be voluntary.
