The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, announced that his country will not align its visa policy with the requirements of the European Union, refusing to impose visas for citizens of Russia. This decision was made in the context of pressures from Brussels, which is demanding a reduction in the number of residence permits and citizenship granted to Russians. European officials have requested a 50% reduction in these permits, and failure to comply with these conditions could lead to the suspension of Serbia's EU accession negotiations.

Additionally, the EU has asked Belgrade to cancel direct flights to Russia and to abandon the gas contract with Gazprom, citing risks to the security of the Union. Serbia's position, which continues to collaborate with Russia, raises questions about the progress of the European integration process.
