A Russian drone hit a storage facility for spent nuclear fuel near Chernobyl, Ukrainian officials announce.

Ukrainian officials announced on Sunday the attack of a Russian drone on a storage facility for spent nuclear fuel, located about 15 km from the decommissioned Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

The General Staff of Kyiv and the Ukrainian atomic agency confirmed that the facility was partially destroyed, but it did not contain spent fuel at the time of the attack. The fire caused by the attack was quickly extinguished, with no casualties reported.

Although Russia has not commented on the incident, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned Russia's actions, emphasizing that they pose a threat to the safety of nuclear facilities in Ukraine.
