A drone attack reportedly targeted the Volodarsk Linear Production and Dispatching Center, a major oil storage facility near the town of Konstantinovo, approximately 40 kilometers from central Moscow. The information was reported by monitoring channels cited by The Kyiv Independent, while images shared online appear to show flames and columns of smoke in the facility’s area.
The Volodarsk complex reportedly handles approximately three million tons of petroleum products annually and is said to be the largest facility of its kind in the Moscow region. Its pipelines are connected, among other places, to major airports in the Russian capital area.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated that at least 650 Ukrainian drones had headed toward the region, 105 of which were reportedly shot down near the capital. The scale of the attack has not been independently verified.
The incident comes amid an intensification of Ukrainian strikes on Russia’s energy infrastructure. Kyiv claims that its attacks have affected more than 51% of Russia’s oil-refining capacity, though the assessment has not been independently confirmed. That same night, Russia launched drones at Kyiv, where the debris of an intercepted aircraft fell in a residential area of the Pechersk district. The indications show that reciprocal attacks on targets hundreds of kilometers from the front have become an important component of the war.
