A Russian airstrike on the city of Sloviansk, located on the front line in eastern Ukraine, resulted in the death of four people and the injury of another 16, according to local governor Vadim Filashkin. The attack involved the dropping of three guided bombs on the city, and among the injured is a 14-year-old girl.
Sloviansk is a strategic area that Russia aims to obtain in exchange for peace. Denis Pushilin, the Russian-installed leader of the Donetsk region, informed Vladimir Putin that Ukraine now controls only 15-17% of the region.
Russia claims the entire Donetsk region as part of its territory, asserting that it is protected under Moscow's nuclear umbrella. Ukraine, on the other hand, states that it will never recognize Russia's control over Ukrainian regions.
