Russia has included Major General Mihailo Drapatîi, the new commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, on its wanted list shortly after he was appointed by President Volodymyr Zelensky.
The information comes from the database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow, indicating an intensification of Russian pressures on the Ukrainian military leadership. Although the charges are not specified, Drapatîi has been charged in absentia by the Russian Investigative Committee, which claims that under his command, the Ukrainian army has carried out attacks on populated areas in the separatist regions of Donetsk and Luhansk. Additionally, sources from the Russian press state that Moscow's security forces possess sensitive personal information about Drapatîi.
His appointment comes during a period of instability at the top of the military leadership in Kyiv, marked by the dismissal of former commander Oleksandr Sîrskîi and Defense Minister Mihailo Fedorov, which has generated protests in major Ukrainian cities. Tensions between officials have been publicly acknowledged by President Zelensky, highlighting the leadership crisis within the Ukrainian army.
