Alexandru, a Romanian pilgrim on a pilgrimage to Mount Athos, suffered a serious fall, causing a serious head injury. His friend alerted the authorities and the Greek Air Force sent a SuperPuma helicopter to the rescue. In the meantime, two Athonite parents provided first aid and 10 firefighters were mobilized. The helicopter transported him to the 424 military hospital in Thessaloniki, the action lasted about 45 minutes.
