The capital of Ukraine, Kiev, was the target of a Russian ballistic missile attack on Thursday morning, resulting in the death of at least 12 people and injuring another 32, according to statements from Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
Witnesses reported hearing over 12 explosions, and the attack targeted residential and non-residential buildings in three neighborhoods, some of which caught fire. A pediatric hospital was also damaged.
Vitali Klitschko mentioned that several people were trapped in a shelter, without providing further details. Additionally, two neighborhoods in Kiev were left without electricity. Local authorities have mobilized all competent services to manage the situation and extinguish the fires caused by the attack.
