Rob Jetten, the leader of the Democrats 66 (D66) party, announced the formation of a minority government in the Netherlands, in collaboration with two center-right parties, VVD and CDA, after three months of negotiations. D66 won the parliamentary elections on October 29, obtaining 26 seats, the lowest number for a winning party. Although it surpassed the far-right PVV party, Jetten failed to form a majority coalition due to the fragmented political landscape. The designated Prime Minister emphasized the importance of an ambitious and stable program, stating that the three parties will collaborate with allied leaders to advance legislative proposals. In total, 15 parties obtained mandates in the new parliament, further complicating the formation of a stable coalition.
