The Renault Group has announced that it will launch the Duster SUV in India, where it will be produced at the Chennai plant starting in 2026. Fabrice Cambolive, CEO of the Renault brand, stated that the Indian version will be adapted to the local market and will benefit from synergies with European production in Mioveni. The Duster will be marketed under the Renault brand in India, similar to Turkey, while in Europe and Morocco it will remain a Dacia model. The new version will include differentiated elements, such as a high central console, which could later be integrated into the European model. Cambolive emphasized that the strategy does not exclude Europe but seeks to utilize the best components from India and Europe to provide value to customers. The Chennai plant has become a strategic pillar for Renault, having complete control over the facility after the previous partnership with Nissan.
