The French car manufacturer Renault has started importing electric motors from China for the new Twingo model, rapidly developed with the help of Chinese engineers. The company has abandoned a partnership with Valeo for a more powerful electric motor, opting instead for a cheaper Chinese supplier. The Twingo will benefit from a new production line at the plant in Cléon, France, with a capacity of 120,000 motors per year, starting in 2027.

Dacia, part of the Renault group, is accelerating its electrification, with plans to launch two electric cars: Evader in 2027 and Sandero EV in 2028. Evader, a segment A model, will be unveiled in 2026 and will be produced in Slovenia. Sandero EV will replace the current model and will be available with multi-energy drivetrains, including electric and hybrid. Its production will take place in Morocco, where Dacia is investing in preparing the plant for electric vehicles.
