The violence in Torre-Pacheco, one of Spain's worst recent episodes, was triggered by an attack on an elderly man. Tensions have risen between far-right groups and migrants, and almost a third of the city's population is of foreign origin. Local authorities are investigating the motives behind the attack, but have so far made no arrests in the case.
