Vladimir Putin traveled to Beslan to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 2004 hostage-taking.

Russian President Vladimir Putin went to Beslan to pay tribute to the victims of the tragic hostage-taking in 2004, when more than 300 people, mostly children, died. He laid flowers at memorials and visited the school where a cultural and patriotic center has been set up.
