Russian President Vladimir Putin had a phone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which they discussed the situation in the Middle East and the challenges related to Iran. Putin expressed Russia's support for intensifying diplomatic efforts in the region. This discussion took place in the context of U.S. President Donald Trump postponing a decision regarding a possible attack on Iran, following internal consultations and discussions with allies. Although military options remain on the table, Trump decided to assess the risks of such an action, while the U.S. military is strengthening its presence in the Middle East.

Netanyahu urged Trump to wait, giving Israel more time to prepare for potential Iranian reprisals. Additionally, the Trump administration has imposed new sanctions against Iranian officials, while continuing to explore diplomatic options.
