Protests in Iran continue to intensify, even under conditions where the internet is disrupted. Shocking images of violence and victims are still reaching the world. Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has called the protesters "a gang of vandals," while Donald Trump has threatened military intervention if government forces continue to kill protesters.
The demonstrations, triggered by economic issues, quickly transformed into anti-regime protests, and at least 45 protesters are reported to have been killed. Reza Pahlavi, the son of the former shah, urges the continuation of the protests. The question remains whether the Iranian regime will test the determination of the U.S. to intervene.
