On Sunday, thousands of Croats participated in protests organized in four cities, including Zagreb, under the slogan "United Against Fascism". The protesters chanted anti-fascist messages and called on the authorities to limit the actions of far-right groups, which have recently targeted ethnic and liberal minorities. The protests were triggered by the frequent use of pro-fascist symbols and the violent incidents that occurred in cities like Rijeka and Zadar, where groups of young people attacked the protesters.

Journalist Maja Sever highlighted the current dangers and promised to fight for a democratic society. The rise of right-wing extremism has been amplified by the formation of a controversial coalition, and Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic has been accused of not taking sufficient measures against it. Croatia, which joined the EU in 2013, faces ethnic tensions and a complicated history, and the recent protests reflect fears related to ethnic violence and political extremism.
