A recent report from the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) signals an alarming infiltration of pro-Russian propaganda in the online environment, with hundreds of English-language websites, ranging from established publications to obscure blogs, citing 'Pravda' as if it were a verified source. Over 80% of the articles taken have not been verified, giving the Kremlin's narratives a concerning visibility and credibility. The 'Pravda' network, led by Evgeny Shvchenko, has grown exponentially, currently having at least 224 platforms, generating 3.6 million pro-Russian articles annually. This rapid expansion aims to saturate the datasets used for training AI models, amplifying the effects of propaganda. Approximately 40% of the sourced materials refer to the war in Ukraine, and the risk that this information becomes 'legitimate results' in AI queries is increasing. Experts warn that the 'Pravda' network could usurp the way Russia's aggression is reflected, filling the gaps left by the media.
