The President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, stated that Donald Trump is, objectively, an asset for Russia, highlighting the changes in U.S. foreign policy under his leadership. Trump has adopted a more favorable position towards Russia compared to his predecessor, Joe Biden, and has not taken decisive measures against this state in the conflict in Ukraine. There have also been persistent questions about Trump's ties to Russia, although investigations have not proven direct collaboration with Russian security services. These accusations are also supported by other European officials.
