Peru's Chancay port will start operations at the end of next month, offering a direct route to Shanghai.

<p>Peruvian authorities hope the Port of Chancay will become a major shipping hub, connecting South America with Asia. After opening, the port will offer a direct route to Shanghai, with plans to open shipping routes to Colombia, Ecuador and Chile. The port will be mainly owned and operated by Cosco Shipping Ports.
