During his audience on Wednesday, Pope Leo XIV asked Catholics and other believers to observe a day of fasting and prayer on Aug. 22, dedicated to peace in Ukraine and other war-torn regions. The call comes amid recent talks between international leaders, including between Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski, to promote peace efforts. Despite these initiatives, Russia launched a significant air strike on Ukraine, highlighting the complexity of the situation.
