Poland has concluded defense agreements worth 18.4 billion euros, including purchases of Borsuk combat vehicles and K9PL howitzers.

The Polish Minister of Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, announced the signing of defense contracts worth 18.4 billion euros, describing this moment as an 'absolute world record' and a crucial step for strengthening the country's defense capabilities. The acquisitions include 146 Borsuk infantry fighting vehicles, support vehicles for the K9PL self-propelled howitzers, and vehicles for transporting ammunition and coordinating operations of the Homar-K artillery system.

The company Huta Stalowa Wola will benefit from the majority of the contracts, while Rosomak S.A. will deliver 48 military vehicles. These contracts are part of the EU's SAFE program, aimed at supporting the development of the European defense industry and enhancing security in the context of the war in Ukraine. Poland, the main beneficiary of this program, has accelerated defense investments following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, aiming to sign approximately 40 defense contracts by the end of May.
