Poland is strengthening its military capabilities, aiming to build the largest ground army in Europe.

In this context, Warsaw is directing its attention towards domestic arms manufacturers and companies from Central Europe, thus reducing dependence on external suppliers. Defense spending has increased nearly fourfold since 2022, reaching 30.4 billion zlotys by 2025, and for 2026, an amount of approximately 53 billion euros is estimated. The war in Ukraine has accelerated this trend, with Poland considering Russia a major threat. The Deputy Minister of State Assets, Konrad Golota, emphasized the importance of equipment manufactured in Poland.

Collaboration projects with companies from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary are in full expansion, and companies such as CSG from the Czech Republic and Rheinmetall from Germany are expanding production in Poland. This represents a significant change in Poland's defense strategy, which aims not only to develop a strong domestic industry but also to ensure the independence of the supply chain in case of conflict.
