Poland has decided not to join the US-led Peace Council under the current circumstances, Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated. This decision comes after national doubts were expressed regarding the form and mandate of the council, which was initially proposed by US President Donald Trump as a mechanism for monitoring peace in Gaza. The council has raised concerns among European countries, particularly due to the invitation extended to the leaders of Russia and Belarus to be part of the body.

A recent poll showed that only 25% of Poles support joining the council, while 42% oppose it. Tusk emphasized that a final decision will require a debate in parliament. Although Poland's right-wing president, Karol Nawrocki, was present at the signing ceremony of the council, he did not sign the document without government approval.
